On You (2024) – Installation, Sharbakat Project

Commissioned by Amalgam Studio, On You is a large-scale photograph of a laughing man, installed in an abandoned house in Beirut's neglected Karantina area. The installation critiques both the art world and its viewers by highlighting the stark contrast between vibrant cultural spaces and the forgotten, industrial zones like Karantina. The image of the laughing man reflects the absurdity of this neglect, urging viewers to reconsider the value we place on art in relation to the spaces it inhabits.

I Was Never (2021)

Permanent failures generate elusive victories that are tangible throughout the history of Lebanon. From the liberation of the south seen through my mother's eyes in the year 2000 until the latest events of 2019 that I documented with my camera, this video is an attempt to explore our ability to understand new realities through the distorted and manipulated image.

Snakes & Ladders

Snakes and Ladders is an imaginary excursion, examining darkness, metaphorically, sensorially and symbolically. Hopelessly powerless bodies move, scan a dying city, try to read the future in the dark. The film creates a duality between a human body and a concrete building - attempting to open pathways of perception by melting the fortifications of our constructed meanings – by observing matter and thought, in their raw form. In darkness, we construct, in light we deconstruct.

Commissioned by MAQAMAT for BIPOD 2022, the film was screened at Sursok Palace as part of Cameras of October.

Selected for screening at Cinedans FEST '22 and was featured in the International Short Film Competition.

À LA RECHERCHE DE BEYROUTH

Commissioned by Gallery Claude Lemand in 2021, a series of six photographs was featured in the Lumières du Liban exhibition at the Institut du Monde Arabe in Paris.

The Bleed Zine - 2023

Nader deconstructs and examines the intricate layers of religious ritual and human emotion in The Bleed Zine, an ongoing photographic project centered on the Ashura ceremonies in Tyre, south of Lebanon. He questions traditional representations of this significant event, focusing on the collective expressions of devotion, grief, and solidarity.

Through black-and-white imagery and deliberate cropping techniques, he brings viewers intimately close to details that often go unnoticed— This approach offers a critical yet compassionate exploration of human expression and the fluid dynamics of the crowd.

The Bleed Zine unfolds as a study of movement and human expression, inviting viewers to discover the profound depths of a ritual that resonates far beyond its geographic origins.
